About AFFIRM Woman

Our Mission

AFFIRM Woman is an impact-driven community-oriented organisation dedicated to improving the personal, social, and economic wellbeing of girls and young women aged 12-25 that live in Sub-Saharan Africa. As a social enterprise, our mission is to support young women with the confidence, resilience and courage that enable them to overcome challenges, pursue their ambitions and become credible members of society.

Through our (w)holistic programmes, AFFIRM Woman equips young women with the essential knowledge, resources, and competencies needed for their own success, however they choose to define it. The programmes seek to alleviate poverty in two ways:

  • Mindset reframing through personal growth, welfare and wellbeing events that enable members to realise their true worth, reach their highest potential, and achieve their life’s purpose.
  • Entrepreneurial development courses that provide information and skills on business identity, strategy, impact and economic advancement.

AFFIRM Woman’s supportive and encouraging community strives to build bridges between generations and enrich young women’s lives in ways they have never imagined. We cover sensitive and challenging topics relating to their academics, careers, businesses, relationship management, finances, life skills and more.

Our Values

Everything that we do at AFFIRM Woman builds on and promotes our 3 core values: Empowerment, Community and Transparency.

EMPOWERMENT to us means ensuring that young women to have power and control over their own lives. It is important that we give them the help, respect and tools that they need to become confident and self-sufficient.

Our shared interests, goals and passions, our need for safe spaces and supportive networks, and the encouragement of like-minded women makes COMMUNITY a crucial value for us.

By TRANSPARENCY, we are committed to being open, honest and accountable to each other and our stakeholders (members, partners, donors, and supporters), in our communications as well as our processes.

Our People

At AFFIRM Woman, we believe in the power of collective action to achieve our mission through visionary leadership combined with a team ready take on challenging projects. Each of us brings innovative ideas, creative value propositions and fresh capacity-building methods to the table, resulting in positive life changes for our community of young women.
